On Wednesday, April 26th, we held our annual Cocktail Benefit at Christie’s Auction House. Friends of HPAC came to this beautiful venue to celebrate the accomplishments of our wonderful Hunts Point Scholars. The Hunts Point Children’s Shakespeare Ensemble Chorus started the night off by performing a beautiful song called Nightingale and keynote speaker, graduating scholar Rodrigo Avila Hernandez, gave an inspiring speech about the impact HPAC programming has had on him. More pictures of the event can be seen on Facebook.
We would like to thank Spotlight honorees, The Shakespeare Society, The Kenyon Review, and our College Access Counselor, Judithann Thayer for their endless support and encouragement of our Scholars, the Carl C. Icahn Foundation, Zachy’s Wine and Liquor, and Christie’s for their generosity in making the evening a night to remember, Gemma Sudlow for inspiring the crowd as the event’s auctioneer, and the Benefit Committee for their kindness and hard work making the night a complete success.
